Braveheart Cycling Fund 2025 Grant Application
Promising young talent in cycling can emerge from various backgrounds and communities. Yet, financial barriers often hinder their progression from emerging ability to world-class status. As a result, we risk losing talented cyclists before they have the chance to showcase their potential.
Our mission is to give opportunities for individuals with clear potential to succeed. As traditional sources of funding diminish, we stay dedicated to offering financial assistance to promising young cyclists whose paths to achievement may be hindered by economic challenges.

Additional considerations
While the primary selection criteria hold significant importance, the panel also takes into account various extra factors when faced with challenging decisions resulting from constraints on available funding or an abundance of applications.
Additional consideration is given to riders from low SIMD (Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation) backgrounds or who may face further hardship.
You must strongly desire to participate in competitive cycling but face challenges that prevent you from doing so for reasons outside your control.
Scottish riders with a high social media presence to promote and raise awareness of the fund will be considered.
Riders from the north of Scotland are encouraged to apply
Braveheart Cycling Fund Grant Procedures
Braveheart Cycling Fund will contact the applicant to confirm that they received the application by the closing date. If anything is missing or unclear, the Braveheart Cycling Fund will email the applicant to collect more information.
Applicants must identify their needs, personal circumstances, and disadvantages in making a support case.
Once applications for each funding round have closed, the Scottish Cycling Performance Staff, chaired by the Head of Performance and Coaching, will review applications based purely on merit and make recommendations, in priority order, to a Braveheart Cycling Fund committee and or the SCF Trustees for review and final approval.
Successful applicants will get a grant offer letter outlining the support package and any related terms and conditions within 1-2 months of the application closing date.
