Over the coming weeks, we will be introducing our special guest riders who will be attending the Braveheart Cycling Fund Charity Dinner and Ride.
We’re delighted to announce that Pippa York will be joining us at this year’s Braveheart Cycling Fund Charity Dinner and Ride in Kilmarnock!
Born in Glasgow and having raced early on with the Glenmaranock Wheelers, she gained a reputation as an exceptional climber, winning the Scottish Hill-Climb Championships in 1977. She went on to win the British Road Championships in 1978 and again in 1995.
Competing for various professional teams across Europe, Pippa is perhaps best known for winning the King of the Mountain’s jersey at the Tour de France in 1984 and finishing fourth overall. She competed in all three Grand Tours as her career spanned the 1980s and early 1990s.

Pippa has been a commentator for ITV’s coverage of the Tour de France, as well as a contributor for CyclingNews and an author of her memoir, The Escape: The Tour, the Cyclist and Me.
Join us in welcoming Pippa to Kilmarnock at the Braveheart Cycling Dinner & Ride on October 18th.
Proceeds from the evening will directly support initiatives that offer opportunities for young riders to enhance their skills, reach their potential, and continue the proud tradition of Scottish cycling.
Save the date: October 18th. Spread the word and be part of an unforgettable evening!
