Special Guest to Attend the Braveheart Cycling Fund Charity Dinner: Callum Thornley

Over the coming weeks, we will be introducing our special guest riders who will be attending the Braveheart Cycling Fund Charity Dinner and Ride.

The Braveheart Cycling Fund is delighted to announce that Scottish cyclist Callum Thornley will attend the Braveheart Cycling Fund Dinner in Kilmarnock on Saturday, 18 October. Thornley will join supporters, past and present Scottish cycling stars, and community leaders to celebrate and raise funds for the next generation of Scottish cyclists.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Callum to this year’s dinner,” said Trustee Kathy Gilchrist. “His commitment to the sport and his connection to Scotland’s cycling community make him a fantastic guest for an evening that’s all about inspiring the riders of tomorrow.”

Callum grew up riding mountain bikes and raced with the Peebles Cycling Club before transitioning to road cycling. In 2024, Thornley had a breakthrough year, achieving notable results, including a 10th-place finish at Paris-Roubaix Espoirs and winning the King of the Mountain jersey in the 2024 Tour of Britain.

One of his notable achievements in 2025 was winning the Under-23 time trial at the British National Championships, which earned him the right to wear the British Champions jersey at the UCI World U23 Time Trial Championships, where he finished 5th.

Callum Thornley is the first rider from the Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe Rookies to advance into the WorldTour.

At the Volta ao Algarve in Portugal, Callum races next to superstar Primož Roglič. Weeks later, he makes it onto the podium at the Istrian Spring Trophy stage race. A strong beginning—and another indication of his potential.

Just weeks after his debut races with the Rookies, it’s confirmed that Callum is moving up to the WorldTour.

Join us in welcoming Callum to Kilmarnock at the Braveheart Cycling Dinner & Ride on October 18th.

Proceeds from the evening will directly support initiatives that offer opportunities for young riders to enhance their skills, reach their potential, and continue the proud tradition of Scottish cycling.

Save the date: October 18th. Spread the word and be part of an unforgettable evening!
