We are thrilled to announce that Alan Anderson and Charline Joiner will be our hosts for this year’s Braveheart Cycling Fund Dinner.
The pair first combined their talents on stage at the 2023 UCI World Cycling Championships in Glasgow’s George Square, where their sharp commentary and natural chemistry captivated the crowds. We’re delighted to bring them together again for what promises to be a memorable evening.

Alan Anderson is renowned for his ability to make people laugh, move them to tears, and spark excitement in the most unexpected places. Twice a winner of the Scottish Event Awards, Alan wears many hats: race director, comedian, compere, cycling and triathlon commentator, radio pundit, and even whisky-tasting host.
Most recently, he welcomed riders across the finish line at Sir Chris Hoy’s Tour De 4 and has, in the past, provided commentary for both the European and British National Road Cycling Championships.
Alan’s style has been described as “high-octane MC meets rapier wit”—a master of electrifying a room with humour, energy, and deep local knowledge. Tenacious and outrageous, he thrives on audience interaction, taking events from zero to full throttle before the opening music has faded.

Charline Joiner is a former Scottish international cyclist whose career highlights include competing at two Commonwealth Games (with a Silver medal to her name), as well as winning multiple British medals and Scottish titles. She later returned to the Games as a coach, sharing her knowledge with the next generation.
Transitioning into commentary, Charline brings both first-hand race experience and a passion for the sport. She has been behind the microphone at the 2023 World Cycling Championships, the British National Track Championships, and the Lloyds Tour of Britain, both men’s and women’s races
Having raced at elite level across track and road, Charline offers unique insights into race strategies, drafting, attacks, and counterattacks. A strong advocate for women’s cycling, she challenges the outdated notion that women’s races are “boring,” instead highlighting their tactical depth and intensity.

Join us in Kilmarnock at the Braveheart Cycling Dinner & Ride on October 18th.
Proceeds from the evening will directly support initiatives that offer opportunities for young riders to enhance their skills, reach their potential, and continue the proud tradition of Scottish cycling.
Save the date: October 18th. Spread the word and be part of an unforgettable evening!
