Scottish Cycling Foundation Trustees Celebrate World Cycling Day

On World Cycling Day, the Trustees of the Scottish Cycling Foundation are proud to celebrate the sport we all love — each in our own individual way.

For some, cycling means the freedom of the open road, the rhythm of the pedals, and the joy of exploring new routes. For others, it is the thrill of mountain biking: the challenge of the trails, the connection with nature, and the confidence that comes from pushing yourself a little further. For those drawn to the track, cycling is speed, precision, courage, and the excitement of racing wheel to wheel.

But however we ride, support, volunteer, coach, cheer, or simply share our passion, we are united by one belief: cycling has the power to change lives.

At the Scottish Cycling Foundation, we see cycling as more than a sport. It builds confidence, creates friendships, strengthens communities, and opens doors for young people and riders at every level. It brings people together — on the road, on the trails, on the track, and beyond.

World Cycling Day is a chance to celebrate every part of our cycling community. Whether you are an experienced rider, a young cyclist just starting out, a mountain biker, a track rider, a club member, a volunteer, a commuter, or someone thinking about getting back on a bike, there is a place for you.

The Trustees of the Scottish Cycling Foundation invite everyone to join us in celebrating cycling — in whatever way cycling means something to you.

Ride the road. Explore the trails. Discover the track. Support a rider. Join a club. Volunteer. Encourage a friend. Share your cycling story.

Because cycling is not defined by a single bike, a single route, or a single discipline. It is passion. It is a community. It is an opportunity. It is freedom. And today, on World Cycling Day, we celebrate them all.
